Brushless Pump / Running Hot / Fuse Breaker Blowing
My Brushless Pump was working fine but now the wiring gets hot and/or the fuse/breaker is
blowing, why?
Aeromotive’s brushless Gear Pumps like the 5, 7, and 10 GPM ones - deliver significantly higher fuel flow than traditional electric pumps, placing new demands on plumbing, filtration, and wiring. The 7 and 10 GPM models require 6-gauge wires, a 60-80 amp relay, and appropriately sized filters to handle flow and debris from fuels like ethanol and methanol.
Hot wires or blown fuses often result from under-wiring or a clogged post-filter causing excessive back pressure and current draw. To diagnose, remove the post-filter and run the pump—if wires stay cool and fuses intact, the filter is likely the issue. For more info, ask for a Tech.
