Brushless Pump / Hobbs Switch

Can I stage a Brushless pump, in other words, can I activate it with a Hobbs switch or
programmable output, where the stock in-tank pump runs continuous and the brushless pump only
runs at high engine load?
The start-up sequence of a brushless motor, with its delayed ramp-up to full speed, makes it less ideal as a secondary pump in a staged system. It’s better to use the brushless pump with a TVS controller as the primary and stage a brush-style pump for additional flow when needed.

A brushless TVS-controlled pump can run continuously alongside a primary in-tank pump at low speed. Using a TPS or MAP sensor, the larger pump can be brought to full speed without concerns about start-up time.
