PWM Output From ECU To Vary Speed Of A Brushless Pump

Can I use the PWM output from my ECU to vary the speed of a Brushless Aeromotive Fuel
Pump?

No, you cannot use the ECU’s PWM output to control a brushless fuel pump’s speed. Brushless Aeromotive pumps come with an optional True Variable Speed (TVS) motor controller for speed regulation. Unlike traditional brush motors, brushless motors are 3-phase AC and require a controller to process DC input into 3-phase output.

Providing a modulated DC signal to the controller won’t adjust speed and may damage the inverter/processor. Instead, the TVS controller uses a 0-5V DC signal (via a yellow wire) from sensors like TPS or MAP to regulate pump speed based on engine demand.
