340 Stealth Pump / Carbureted Engine / Which Regulator
I know the 340 Stealth Pump is used for high-pressure EFI engines but my engine is carbureted, is there any way I can use one too? If so, what regulator would I need and how should I plumb the fuel system?
Pumps generate flow, not pressure. While some pumps are designed for higher pressures, a high-pressure pump like the 340 Stealth can operate at lower carbureted pressures with the right setup. Key requirements include using an external bypass regulator (like Aeromotive part number 13204) and ensuring a properly sized return line (½” or AN-08) from the regulator back to the tank. The OEM EFI return connection is too small for carbureted use, so upgrade the tank's return port to match. With these modifications, the 340 Stealth Pump works effectively in carbureted systems, supporting high horsepower and quiet street performance.
