Regulator Doesn't Keep Consistent Pressure
My regulator doesn’t seem to keep consistent pressure, every time I look at the gauge it reads something different, it’s driving me crazy, what is the problem?
Liquid-filled fuel pressure gauges often change readings with temperature due to expanding or contracting liquid inside the sealed case, causing internal pressure shifts of up to 7 psi. This can make it seem like fuel pressure is changing, even though it’s not. To test, heat the gauge and watch the reading drop; releasing the case pressure by opening the plug restores accuracy.
Aeromotive’s new equalizer gauges (part numbers 15632 for carbureted and 15633 for EFI engines) feature a pin-valve to equalize case pressure, ensuring accurate readings at any temperature. For more details, please ask to speak to a Tech.
