Aeromotive Bypass Regulator / Fuel Pressure

I’ve installed my new Aeromotive bypass regulator.  Fuel pressure seems to adjust fine and holds great when the engine is running, but when I shut the engine off, pressure drops quickly to zero.  Shouldn’t the pressure hold like it did with a stock regulator?

Aeromotive EFI bypass regulators may not seal perfectly when the pump is off, as they prioritize performance while the engine is running. Unlike OEM regulators, which must hold pressure for 30 minutes to meet EPA standards, Aeromotive focuses on optimal flow and pressure control during operation.

If extended cranking or hard starts occur, let the pump prime fully before cranking the engine. If the priming cycle is too short, extend it via the ECU, a timer board, or a momentary button in the fuel pump circuit.
